Finding the right scholarship

We know that funding your education is one of the most important parts of business school. To help offset the costs, we offer a variety of different scholarships based on merit or financial need to newly admitted students, as well as second-year MBA students.

Admitted students are automatically considered for Kellogg scholarships. Students receive a notification from admissions at the time they are admitted if they have been selected for one of our scholarships. Finance Fellows are the only exception – they are required to write a supplemental essay housed within the Kellogg application.

We also encourage students to look outside of Kellogg for additional funding opportunities. Financial aid officers are available to provide general information about this process. Specific details about outside scholarships should be found on each individual provider’s website. Some of those websites and search engines can be found in the “Outside Scholarships” section below.

Kellogg scholarship opportunities

Austin Scholars

The Austin Scholarship is one of the largest Kellogg offers to incoming students. In addition to generous financial aid, the F.C. Austin Scholars Program also provides students with opportunities for leadership development and fellowship, including mentorship from three of Kellogg’s most revered faculty members, fireside chats with industry leaders and executives, and a rich community among their Austin cohort and the vast Austin Scholar alumni network.

The F.C. Austin Scholarship is awarded at the time of admission to a select cohort of high-potential students within the Two-Year and MMM Programs. Austin Scholars are selected because they have demonstrated exceptional leadership in academic and professional endeavors and show promise of outsized impact at Kellogg and beyond.

Finance Fellows

Finance Fellows is a full-tuition scholarship for students in the Two-Year MBA Program who are committed to making an impact in a finance industry or function. This program provides unique engagement opportunities with prominent finance leaders and offers mentorship from Kellogg alumni and faculty. The scholarship is made possible through the combined commitment of generous donors and the school.

To be considered, candidates must complete a short essay (250 words) responding to the following prompt:
What excites you about finance? How do you plan to make an impact as you pursue a finance career after earning your Kellogg MBA?

After submitting the Kellogg MBA application, eligible applicants will see the Finance Fellows Scholarship Interest Form appear in the application portal under their Application Checklist. The interest form must be submitted in the same round as the MBA application, by the deadline indicated in the application portal.

Applying for the Finance Fellows award is optional and will not impact the review of the Kellogg MBA application.
